BLUE MOON RISING - Fall Session 2022
Singing in a community choir is about much more than making music. It is an intentional act of joining with others to create beauty, peace, unity, and harmony. Singing together reduces our own isolation and offers the valuable gift of a supportive community. As we stand side by side blending our voices, we open our hearts and enjoy a genuine connection to others that is rare in today’s world. We feel our bodies relax, our worries fade, and our spirits rise. We know from experience why doctors and scientists the world over promote group singing as a powerful healing balm for body, mind, and spirit.
Newcomers are welcome to come and sing at the first two meetings before deciding to continue.
WHEN: Aug. 22 - Dec. 6
WHERE: Tippecanoe Arts Federation, 638 N. Street, Lafayette, IN
FEE: The fee for the autumn session is $150 but a sliding scale, payment plan, and scholarships are available so that no one misses singing because of money.

Singing in Nature - 5 week session, May 30 - June 27
Join me for a 5-week experience of soulful singing at the Celery Bog. The class is being offered through the West Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department. I envision our sessions as a combination of singing and moments of silence where we absorb the beauty, smells, and sounds of nature.
We will sing easy-to-learn songs, chants and rounds from a variety of world traditions. The songs will celebrate the natural world, peace and lovingkindness, and they will open the way for us to connect deeply with ourselves, each other, and the sacred Earth that sustains us. Our sessions will begin in the Lilly Nature Center and conclude with singing outdoors (weather permitting).
There is a limit of 30 people for this class. I’m hoping to sit in circle with people who not only enjoy singing but also have a great love of the natural world. This like-mindedness will, I think, make it a more meaningful experience for all those who participate. Feel free to share this with others who might be interested.
Class Title: Singing in Nature
Class Code: 202060-01 (for registration purposes)
When: Thursdays. Begins May 30; ends June 27; Time: 4:00-5:15
