This page will continue to grow with information in the coming months.
REGISTRATION FEE
The cost for the 3-day event is $185. This covers all activities, meals, and on-site lodging. If you choose to stay off-site, the cost is the same. Most of our costs are fixed and we all need to share those expenses.
Your registration fee supports our ability to organize and produce this unique community singing event! It will help us pay for: facility and land use rental, payment and travel for instructors, food and payment for our wonderful cook, tent rental, other equipment and supplies, insurance, promotion and marketing, administration fees, and lots of smaller costs that will help create a beautiful and enjoyable experience for you!
We will not be offering a reduced rate to those who can come for only part of the gathering. There are too many unknowns this first year, so we are simplifying registration by opening it only to full-time participants paying the regular fee.
LODGING
At our camp, Oakbrooke Valley, there are five cabins with bunk beds which each sleep 16 people. On the registration form you can indicate if you are able to sleep in a top bunk or not. There is plenty of space for tent camping for those who would like more privacy. You may also bring your camper. Electrical hook-ups are available.
For those who choose to stay in a hotel, you will have plenty of choices about 20 minutes away in Kokomo, IN. We have negotiated a good deal on rooms at the Baymont by Wyndham Kokomo. They are $70 a night (plus taxes). Address: 1709 E Lincoln Rd, Kokomo, IN 46902
Phone: (765) 416-6570. Reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to May 1.

A: Yes! Space is limited to 125 participants. We anticipate openings filling quickly for this wonderful weekend. Complete the registration form to reserve your spot.
Q: Do I have to register online?
A: No. We can accept mail-in registration with special arrangement. Please contact Bridget at [email protected]

A. Yes. You will receive instructions on how to pay by check during the registration process.
Q: Are there work trade positions available?
A: We are not offering work/trade positions this year.
Q: Can I come for just part of the time at a reduced cost?
A. For our first year we are offering full-time registration only. Most of our costs (see "Registration Fee" above) are fixed costs, and we need to cover them to make Harmony Grove sustainable for the future. If Harmony Grove becomes an annual event (which we hope it will), we may reconsider this policy in the future.

A: We will not have activities/programming specifically for children or youth. For teenagers 14 or over, we welcome those with the maturity and interest to participate in our scheduled activities. You know your child best, and we trust your decision!
CAMP QUESTIONS
Q: What will I need to bring?
A: By mid-March we will post a suggested list of things to bring. Please check back then.
Q: How rustic is it? Do I need to bring camping gear?
A: Accommodations are cozy cabins with electricity, heating/air conditioning, and nice, clean communal bathrooms with showers close by. You need to bring a pillow and a sleeping bag or blankets. The matresses are wrapped in vinyl so bring a comfy under layer.
Q: Is the camp accessible?
A: We will do our best to make accommodation for people with physical disabilities, however the camp itself is not 100% accessible. There are no steps to navigate to enter most buildings, except there is one small step into the cabins. We will arrange utility vehicle rides around the grounds if needed. We will gladly work with you to see if we can meet your needs. You can help us by sharing your needs with us at the time you register.
Q: What will the weather be like?
A: The weather will likely be wonderful in May, but it may be chilly in the mornings and evenings. Bring multiple layers of clothing so you can adjust to changing temperature. There is always a chance of rain so plan for that as well. We will have plenty of indoor space for our activities in case of rain, but you will still need to walk outside to move between song workshop spaces, the main eating hall, and your tent/cabin.
SINGING / SONG CIRCLES
Q: Do I have to be a "real singer?"
A: Harmony Grove welcomes all voices. Everyone is a real singer. Whether you have never sung or have an abundance of experience, you have a voice to share and a song to sing. As a human, it is your birthright! Harmony Grove is not about “performance” or “perfection”--it is about community, the joy of singing together, the delight of having new experiences, and relaxing in nature in such a beautiful and secluded space.
Q. Is it O.K. to come and go from a workshop if I need to?
A. Yes. We will operate according to the “Law of Two Feet”! Everyone is free to move around as they wish. If you have a hard time choosing between two workshops, feel free to split your time between the two. If one isn’t what you expected or isn’t working for you, simply leave and go to wherever you would rather be. If you need a rest or walk in the woods, do that. Everyone benefits when all the people gathered are there by choice rather than trapped by politeness. We ask that you simply leave quietly without interrupting the song circle you are leaving.
Q: Will there be chances for me to lead songs?
A: Yes! When we gather in the evenings to sing at our fire circle, all are welcome to share favorite songs. We will take turns leading or requesting songs. If you plan to lead a song, make sure you know it well and give some thought concerning a song’s appropriateness for large-group learning. It should be easy to learn as participants usually want to sing without spending a long time learning a song.
There will also be time to gather with smaller groups for impromptu singing during meals and in-between scheduled song circles.
Q. Is it O.K. to record songs?
A. We understand that you may want to record some songs so you can remember them when you get home. You are welcome to record any song you want on your phone or small digital device. Please remember, however, that our present moment experience of singing is our collective priority. Be mindful that your desire to record doesn’t impose on the desire of others to fully enjoy themselves in the moment.
GENERAL QUESTIONS/COMMENTS
Cell phones. Etiquette, reception, re-charging.
We would like you to minimize your phone use while at Harmony Grove and step away from the group if you need to send or receive a call or text. Keep it on silent mode to avoid disruptions during workshops and other activities. As you disconnect from the internet web, you'll enjoy a richer connection to the in-person web!
If you really need to connect with family or work, the cell phone reception is pretty good most of the time. However, there’s a possibility you might need to drive a short distance up the road. Regardless of whether or not you are staying in a cabin, there will be places to recharge your phone.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Pets are not allowed, however we are committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Service animals with documentation are allowed, however you will need to provide proof that the animal is a service animal and of the tasks that it has been trained to perform. For permission to bring your service animal and to review our full animal policy, please contact Bridget Baker at [email protected].
Q: Are there any medical staff on-site if I get sick or injured.
A: We will have two nurses on-site who can help with minor sickness or injury.
Q; May I bring my own food?
A: You are free to bring your own food or snacks. There is a small amount of refrigerator space available, but you would be safer to bring a cooler. We will make one run for ice on Saturday and you can order ice when you check in upon arrival.
Q: What if I lose something at camp?
A: We'll have a well-marked "Lost and Found" area to help folks reunite with lost items.
We want to ensure you are reunited with items, but if something is left behind, it requires effort to collect and store and is expensive to ship items. Therefore there will be a $20 fee plus the cost of shipping to return items to you after camp. At our closing circle we will remind you to check the "Lost and Found" and double-check that you are leaving with everything you brought with you.
